On Stone Columns Square stand 12 huge stone columns, which represent the 12 branches of the Hani people, and vary in length according to the population of each branch. There is a small ball on the top of the highest column due south of the Square. Through the shadow the ball casts on the ground, we can accurately observe the 24 solar terms.
