Pu'er Sun River National Forest Park

Rhino Hermitage

The hero of Rhino Hermitage is the white rhino from South Africa, which has round and stout body, smooth skin, small eyes, pipe-shaped and rotatable ears, with sharp hearing. Its two horns grow on the snout, one large and one small, one after the other. White rhinos inhabit the areas near the Tropic of Capricorn, where there is a clear distinction of wet and dry seasons, plentiful food and beautiful environment. The environment of Pu'er on the Tropic of Cancer is similar to that of the habitat of white rhinos, so it the most appropriate habitat for lumpy white rhinos. According to Simao County Records, Laiyang River Basin (now Sun River National Park) used to be an area with wide distribution of rhinoceros, but due to hunting, rhinoceros disappeared in this area. Pu'er Sun River National Park is rebuilding the rhino population in this area in the form of free-range feeding with artificial scientific support as a supplement.
